RESULT: Success
OVERVIEW: During a discussion about flow and lean thinking, the decision was made to move the Quality department from their offices to the production floor.
ROLE: My role was to devise the moving plan, help design the area, and then direct any and all help accordingly.
CHALLENGES: Of course, it eventually ended up being a solo project as many of the people assigned to the project were taken away because it was not their concern. Still, I followed my plan and asked for assistance with larger items when needed.
OUTCOMES: The Quality department was successfully moved and implemented Lean thinking and 5S design into the final product. After assessing the final product with the General Manager (former Quality Manager and final customer), I signed over the project and informed the team about any major changes to the processes in place.
