RESULT: Success
OVERVIEW: After receiving more parts for a customer that was unacceptable, the team met and decided to send over some material for the customer to review. The project was turned over to me to create and process.
ROLE: I was to pull all the parts in question, take pictures, put them in a presentable package, and deliver them to the General Manager who would meet the customer at their location by the end of the day.
CHALLENGES: Back of the paper project management as there was no real requirement for what the customer wanted. I merely put together what I knew my General Manager would appreciate and targeted him as the final customer.
Constant struggles with the proper materials and feedback. Sadly, one of the stakeholders gives pushback instantly regarding anything that isn’t done as they expect, even when they refuse to communicate their requirements. This was accounted for and attempted to bridge that gap with meetings and questions, but still ended up with more pushback on buy-in
OUTCOMES: The final product was assembled and presented to the General Manager first thing in the morning. Days after visiting the customer, the General Manager praised my attempts and appreciated the care I took to make the package presentable. The customer also appreciated the presentation, and it spurred a deeper discussion of the quality issues at hand.
